Over the last few
years more and more Brits have been taking a cruise holiday and based on my small sample of friends and colleagues who have
taken a cruise these numbers will increase as i have yet to meet anyone who having done one does not want to do another. (In
2010 it is estimated that 1.5 million Britons will take a cruise holiday).
So with the increase in people taking a cruise, travel insurance
companies have produced cruise insurance and typically they will offer adequate cover against Medical Expenses, Personal Accident,
Cancellation, Curtailment, Baggage, Personal Effects and Money. The other thing to remember is that if you are cruising around
the USA or Caribbean your cover worldwide cover will need to cover these regions as most worldwide cruise insurance policies
offer worldwide with or without the USA, Canada and Caribbean and if you had to be medivaced off the ship and into a US hospital
without medical insurance the costs really would be horrendous.
