LV is the new brand name for what was before called Liverpool Victoria Insurance. Currently when
you apply online for LV travel insurance you can get a 15% discount. Historicallythe LV travel insurance policy excluded
cover for claims resulting from an epidemic or pandemic. But in response to customer concerns, LV have reviewed their
policy and removed the exclusion for all new and existing customers. As a result, any valid claims where insured persons catch
swine flu before going on holiday, or while they are on holiday, will now be covered. The only exception being if the insured
person has already been diagnosed with swine flu at the time of arranging the policy or buying the travel tickets (whichever
is later). This overrides the exclusion which may be contained in your policy booklet.
The LV= travel policy is designed for people living in the UK who are 79 years of
age or under.
LV offers both single trip and annual travel insurance. The length of time covered is shown in the schedule. For single trip policies this
is for one trip that starts and ends at your home and can be for a maximum of 366 days. For annual multi-trip policies this
is 12 continuous months with a maximum single trip length of 31 days, unless this is extended by you to 45 days or 60 days
or 90 days and this is shown on your policy schedule.
This insurance policy is underwritten by Liverpool Victoria Insurance Company Limited. Emergency medical assistance
claims are handled by Cega Air Ambulance Limited.
In a recent
survey*, 100% of our customers said that they would recommend LV= travel insurance – you can’t say fairer
than that! *Voice of Customer survey, May 2009, 3 month rolling figures.
With the LV
travel insurance policy you can also add extras like winter sports, adventure activities, golf, business travel and weddings.
