You can access your savings by transferring the savings to a linked account online or over the telephone
Statements showing the value of your savings are issued quarterly by ING

ING Direct Savings Accounts and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme

ING Direct Savings Accounts are not covered under the UK financial services compensation scheme but they are covered under the Dutch Scheme. What this means for UK savers who have savings accounts with ING Direct is that you are covered under the DGS up to 100,000 Euros or 200,000 for joint accounts.
